Event Details

Resilient social relationships discourage the escalation of conflict. Tension and conflict are an inevitable and some say necessary part of social interaction, and they need not be destructive. This workshop looks at the steps we can be take to help promote and maintain relationships that can be effective in the face of the inevitable tensions that arise.

This workshop will enable you to understand the keys to social bridge building and to know how to foster resilient relationships between individuals and in groups.

The sessions use examples, practical exercises and discussion to explore the he topic of conflict and bridge building in social groups.

Presenter: Barry Winbolt

Barry is Chair of Conflict Resolution at the Institute of Family Therapy in London, and Programme Coordinator for both the Graduate Certificate and the MSc in Conflict Resolution and Mediation Studies at Birkbeck College, University of London.

For more than 20 years he has advised people in many cultures and settings on how to resolve conflict, improve their working relationships and enhance the quality of their lives. He is an author and a regular presenter at conferences in the UK and abroad,
